Class of 2013
Marian is preparing to begin serving as the Consular Agent at the U.S. Consulate in Cusco, Peru. In this position, she will provide American citizens with a wide range of emergency and non-emergency services, assistance, and guidance. She will be responsible for the financial accounting and compilation of consular statistics as well.
As a Robertson Fellow at UC San Diego, Marian earned a Master’s Degree that focused on International Development and Nonprofit Management with a regional emphasis on Latin America. In 2012, she also interned at the U.S. Embassy in Lima, Peru in the Economic Section where her interest in international affairs was reinforced.
Prior to graduate school, Marian served as a Peace Corps volunteer in northern Peru from 2008 – 2010. For two years, she worked to promote small business development and better business practices in rural areas. Her primary project focused on the economic development of a women’s artisan association.
Marian is originally from Southern California and currently resides in Peru with her husband. She is proficient in Spanish and Vietnamese.
