Kaitlyn Duffy

Bush School of Texas A&M
Class of 2017

Kaity graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. The combination of her degrees allowed Kaity to focus on the nexus of science and security through a series of cooperative education experiences, including with INTERPOL Washington, Joint Interagency Task Force West, the Naval Postgraduate School, and the U.S. Department of State. Through Northeastern University, Kaity also participated in a Dialogue of Civilizations trip to Geneva, Switzerland, where she studied international diplomacy and humanitarian action.

After graduation, Kaity spent a year with the Project on Nuclear Issues (PONI) at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), helping to build and sustain an interdisciplinary network of young professionals interested in nonproliferation, nuclear security, and the modern nuclear enterprise. In 2015, she helped to start a non-profit organization based in Maryland focused on sharing meals with veterans and sharing their stories with the broader community.

Kaity hopes to continue to find new and interesting ways to combine her interests in science and security while studying National Security and Diplomacy at the Bush School.
