Ian Wallace

Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, Ian is an alumnus of Rollins College where he graduated with honors with a degree in International Relations. Upon graduating, Ian was fortunate to have the opportunity to complete a Fulbright Grant in Nepal as an English Teaching Assistant. Living in Chapagaon, Nepal, Ian taught English at a local public school while working with the Department of State Access Program to develop young and confident student leaders. After leaving Nepal, Ian continued teaching as a member of Teach for America, teaching 6th grade science at STEM Prep Academy in Nashville, TN.

As a student at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Ian is excited to continue to better understand the dynamics of international economic growth, exchange, and development, particularly as related to the ever-dynamic East Asian region. While a student at Fletcher, Ian has been involved with the International Trade Club, where this upcoming year he will serve as a Co-Leader. This pervious summer, Ian was awarded the Asia Foundation Internship in China award, and interned with the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy in Beijing, China. Following this, Ian continued to enhance his regional understanding and language abilities by completing a Boren Fellowship in Guilin, China. This summer, Ian will intern with the Department of State Office of Taiwan Coordination, where he hopes to continue to both deepen his regional understanding and actively analysis the dynamics of this important relationship.
