Joseph Simons

Joseph is an officer in the United States Navy Reserve and the Washington, DC coordinator for Guitars for Vets, a non-profit organization that supports veterans through music therapy. Before beginning his graduate work, Joseph held various positions at the National Defense University, the Institute for Defense Analyses, and Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC).

Joseph holds a bachelor’s in Middle East Studies and Political Science from McGill University. In 2008-2009 he was a fellow at the Center for Arabic Study Abroad (CASA) at the American University in Cairo and is functionally fluent in Arabic. He is also a 2015 Truman National Security Project Defense Council Fellow.

At Fletcher, Joseph was a member of the greatest rock and roll extravaganza to grace the streets of Somerville, The Los Fletcheros.
