Andy is currently a Senior Program Officer at the Asia Society Policy Institute in New York, which works to strengthen ties between the U.S. and Asia and enhance cooperation on key policy and strategic challenges. While a student at the Fletcher School, Andy completed an internship at the State Department’s Office of India Affairs in Washington DC, where he was the desk officer managing the multilateral affairs portfolio. He also tracked a range of security and external affairs issues from Kashmir to India-Burma relations. In addition, he contributed to the third U.S.-India Strategic Dialogue and drafted an internal report on projected demographic and economic changes in India through 2025.
Before his graduate study, Andy worked for the Natural Resources Defense Council, where he served as a research assistant and paralegal for the organization’s Water Program and India Initiative on climate change and energy issues. Andy was born in Jagdalpur, an central-eastern Indian town, and moved to Houston when he was a child. He is fluent in Hindi.
