Libby Kokemoor was born and raised in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and studied International Relations at Pomona College in Claremont, California, where she pursued her passion for global affairs and foreign languages. While at Pomona, she interned in the Los Angeles office of Senator Dianne Feinstein and with the American Islamic Congress in Washington, DC; she also served as a research assistant in the Pomona College History Department, translating Arabic from primary sources. She was the first Pomona College student to take part in the Middlebury College School Abroad in Alexandria, Egypt, an intensive Arabic immersion program. She has also attended the Middlebury Summer Japanese Language School. After graduating, Libby moved to Singapore, where she taught test preparation courses as well as designed curricula and business exam case studies.

For the past three and a half years, Libby has lived in the United Arab Emirates, where she worked as an educational consultant and trainer. In her most recent role as head of her company’s Abu Dhabi office, she advised students and candidates on undergraduate and graduate admissions and liaised with scholarship offices of semi-governmental entities there. Libby is an avid singer, having sung with the Pomona College Choir and Glee Club, as well as the Singapore Symphony Chorus and Abu Dhabi Choral Group during her time overseas. After completing her graduate studies, Libby aims to join the U.S. Department of State as a Foreign Service Officer; she recently passed the Foreign Service Oral Assessment.
