Maryland School of Public Policy
Class of 2019
Growing up in rapidly developing post-soviet Lithuania, Simona was fascinated by the connections, clashes, and amalgamations of the East and the West taking place in front of her eyes. This interest led Simona to pursue studies in Political Science and International Relations in Lithuania, Czech Republic, and the United States. Simona graduated summa cum laude from Salisbury University in 2016 with a double Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English and minors in International Studies and Business and Professional Writing.
During her studies, Simona completed an internship at the Maryland General Assembly where she was impressed by how solid policy research can contribute to good legislative decision-making. After graduating Simona interned at the Pew Research Center, where she analyzed religious restrictions and social hostilities across the world. Simona will be pursuing a Master in Public Policy specializing in International Security and Economic Affairs as well as International Development. After completing her studies, she hopes to employ her foreign language knowledge and policy skills working for the State Department.
