General Brent Scowcroft is President of The Scowcroft Group and one of the nation’s leading experts on foreign policy. Before starting The Scowcroft Group, General Scowcroft served as National Security Advisor to both Presidents Gerald Ford and George H.W. Bush, as Deputy Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs under Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, and as a Military Assistant to President Nixon. He also held the position of Chairman of the President’s Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board under President George W. Bush and assisted President Barack Obama in choosing his national security team.
After a distinguished 29-year career in the U.S. Air Force, General Scowcroft continued serving his country in a public policy capacity by holding positions on the President’s Advisory Committee on Arms Control, the Commission on Strategic Forces, and the President’s Special Review Board, also known as the Tower Commission. He graduated from West Point and received an MA and PhD from Columbia University.
